EXCLUSIVE: Mysterious Commentor asks:
quo_2.jpgAnd just how is she (Eve Carson) descended from Walter Carson?A DigitalMonkey commentor claiming knowledge of Eve Carson’s family asks. “Her grandparents moved to Athens in the 1950’s or 1960’s from somewhere up north; her grandfather to take a job with one of the large plants. How about some research and some facts? Mar 20, 12:27 AM -

“It’s Simply Not Enough” – KP

“It’s simply not enough, say Ghetto Bragging Rights publisher Kirkland Perkins. “Until we get hear: We didn’t own black slaves – from an credible family source, we will believe there’s some significant, direct andd savage slavery tie.”

THE LAST LYNCHING IN ATHENS

Eberhart was driven to a wooded area.

In the presence of a huge menacing mob which had quickly assembled, he was chained to a tree and wood and kindling piled around him. During the next hour, the mob carefully organized itself and conducted a sort of sham trial, even choosing prosecutors and judges.
Before the pyre was lighted, Eberhart was told he would not be harmed until he had been given an opportunity to confess his guilt. Eberhart, however, denied his guilt.

MOB RAIDS JAIL AND BURNS NEGRO AT CRIME SCENE, the front page headline announced in The Atlanta Constitution. “Chained to a tree, with blazing piles of wood heaped high about him, as a crowd of more than 3,000 men surged around, John Lee Eberhart, a negro . . . was burned to death . . . in Oconee County.”

The answer as to whether the family of the stunningly beautiful and exceptionally talented UNC student Eve Carson, killed in an alleged robbery last week, owned slaves may be answered.

We received the correspondence published above from a source identifying herself only as Laura stating Eve’s grandparents moved to Athens in the 1950s or 1960s and, thus, could not be related to the slave owner cited in the Clarke-Onconee Geneological Society’s publication citing the names of slave owners in Athens named Walter Carson.

Beyond the issue of whether Carson’s family once owned slave, though, we’re still faced with question of whether Carson was part of an alleged society of UNC affluent whites who participated in the new game that’s reportedly sweeping college campuses across the country: Privileged White Flaunt.
